One day hackathon for mixed teams of BC students and High school students in strojLAB, topic will not be known prior the hackathon. It will be focused on interdisciplinarity and improvisation within FabLab digital fabrication tools.

Learning Objectives
Learn basics of digital fabrication and rapid prototyping
Develop practical problem-solving skills through hands-on challenges
Gain experience with CAD design and 3D modeling
Understand fundamentals of 3D printing and laser cutting
Learn electronics basics with microcontrollers (Arduino)
Develop project management and teamwork skills
Create functional prototypes to solve real-world problems
Course Curriculum
Module 1: Introduction and Challenge Brief
1 hour- Keynote presentation on digital technologies
- Competition instructions and rules
- Introduction to available tools and equipment
- Team formation and challenge task explanation
Module 2: Design Phase
2 hours- Team brainstorming and concept development
- CAD design and 3D modeling
- Prototype planning and material selection
- Feasibility analysis and design optimization
Module 3: Digital Fabrication
3 hours- 3D printing of designed components
- Laser cutting (when applicable)
- Electronics integration and Arduino programming
- Testing and iteration of prototypes
Module 4: Competition and Evaluation
2 hours- Final prototype testing
- Team presentations and demonstrations
- Peer and expert evaluation
- Awards ceremony and feedback session

- Basic interest in technology and problem-solving
- No prior experience with digital fabrication required
